Find Out How Much Energy Your Roof Can Generate
Every roof is different. Which way it faces, how steep it is, whether next door's tree casts a shadow - it all changes what solar can do for you. Our team assesses all of this remotely, using aerial mapping and roof measurements alongside your electricity usage, and talks you through a personalised estimate on your first call. When you decide to go ahead, a detailed desktop survey confirms your final system design - and if anything needs a closer look in person, we'll arrange it.
  • Roof direction affects how much sunlight the panels receive through the day.

  • Roof pitch helps determine the most effective panel position and expected output.

  • Shade from trees, chimneys and nearby buildings can reduce generation.

  • Panel layout shows how many panels can safely and effectively fit.

Why It Matters

Lower Bills. Fewer Price-Rise Worries.

A 4kW system generates around 3,400 kWh a year on average - roughly what a typical UK home uses. With 0% VAT until March 2027 and typical payback of 9 to 13 years (Energy Saving Trust), solar pays back three ways: power you use, power you export, and less exposure to price rises.

Every home uses electricity differently, so we don't quote the same system to everyone. We look at your roof, how you use power and what's coming next (maybe an EV? a heat pump?), then design the system around your needs.

Generate Your Own Electricity

  • Cut your daytime electricity bills
  • Clean energy, made on your roof
  • Buy less from the grid
  • Backed by an MCS performance estimate

Battery & Export

Make Every Ray Count. Unlock The Full Value Of Solar.

Use More Of What You Generate

A battery stores the electricity your panels generate in the day so you can use it in the evening, instead of exporting it and buying power back later. We size and price it as a clear option in your proposal.

  • Power your home after dark with your own daytime generation
  • Cut evening grid usage, when electricity matters most
  • Get more value from every panel you install
  • Only recommended when the numbers work for your home
    SunHomeBatteryGrid

During the day, your panels power the home and top up the battery. Any extra can be exported.

Panels Generate

Daylight becomes electricity on your roof.

Home Uses What It Needs

Your appliances draw first from your own power.

Surplus Exported

Extra units go to the grid, and your supplier pays you.

Credited By Your Supplier

Get Paid For What You Don't Use

When your panels generate more than your home needs and your battery or batteries are fully charged, the surplus is exported to the grid, and your supplier pays you for each unit under the Smart Export Guarantee. This means you can apply for the SEG tariff that suits you.

  • Earn from every unused unit you export
  • MCS certificate issued with every install
  • Choose from a range of supplier export tariffs
  • Works with or without a battery

Both are covered in your estimate and confirmed in your final system design - clear numbers, in writing.

Add EV Charging To Your Solar Installation

If you are planning for an electric vehicle, or already drive one, we can install a home EV charge point as part of your solar installation. This means your panels, battery and charger can be planned together from day one, helping you make better use of the electricity your system produces.

Ask about EV charging on your solar call and we'll include it in your estimate.

  • One Installation Team

Your EV charger can be fitted alongside your solar system, avoiding a separate visit later.

  • Smart Charging Ready

Charge when your panels are generating or when electricity rates are lower.

  • Prepared For The Future

Even if you do not have an EV yet, we can prepare the wiring during your solar install to make adding a charger simpler later.

Where The Saving Comes From

Three Ways Solar Pays You Back

Solar doesn't save you money in one big lump. It works in three ways at once.

Every unit used here is a unit you don't buy

Your supplier pays you for these

Typical proportions for a 4kW system with a 5 to 6kWh battery. Your split depends on how you use energy.

Use Your Own Power

Every unit your home runs on solar is one you don't buy from the grid. The more you use at home, especially with a battery storing daytime generation for evening, the greater the saving.

Based on MCS performance estimates in your written proposal.

Get Paid For What You Don't Use

Surplus electricity can be exported to the grid under the Smart Export Guarantee. Your supplier credits you for each exported unit, on top of what you save by using your own power.

SEG tariffs and rates are set by your chosen supplier.

Less Exposure To Price Rises

Once installed, your panels will generate energy and keep generating. You're less affected by future electricity price rises on the power you self-generate.

Performance estimates in your MCS proposal.

All three work at the same time, and a properly sized system is designed around how your home actually uses electricity. Your written proposal sets out the split for your home.

Two Figures, One Honest Process

Your Estimate, Then Your Final Design

You don't need a home visit to get a price. Your personalised estimate comes on your first call, based on your roof, aerial data and your electricity usage. A detailed desktop survey then confirms your final design and price after you decide to go ahead.

01Your Estimate · On Your First Call

A personalised, indicative recommendation: system size, estimated price and your payment options - based on your roof, your electricity usage and what you tell us about your home. Enough to make a real decision, without waiting weeks for a visit.

02Your Final Design · Once You Go Ahead

A full desktop survey and system design: confirmed panel layout, confirmed price and your MCS performance estimate - built from aerial mapping, measured roof dimensions, shading analysis and your usage. This is the design your installation, your contract and any finance agreement are based on.

If the detailed design changes anything significant, we'll talk it through with you before any work is booked - and your finance agreement always matches the final quoted amount.

What would these three look like on your roof? That's exactly what your free estimate answers - from your first call, no home visit needed.

Prefer not to pay upfront? Monthly payment options may let you spread the cost instead of paying everything up front. We'll explain what applies to your home when we speak.

Highly competent work, from initial design to installation. We had an air source heat pump, solar panels and extensive insulation installed. Large teams of skilled tradespeople arrived in planned succession. Work was completed within agreed timescales. Problems, where they arose, were quickly resolved. They even painted after completing the work!

Solar PV, Heat Pump & Insulation

I contacted my local MP Elwyn Vaughn who gave me the name of a company to contact, who then put me in touch with Complete Remedial Solutions in Bridgend. This company got the system up and running today Wednesday 29/05/2024. The manager Rui and the electricians Mike and Mathew who I would recommend to anyone needing a heating upgrade installation, have been absolutely first class in their care and work. I can't thank you enough guys. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Heating Upgrade

Very helpful, friendly and reliable. I used CRS in spring 2023 to do a fairly big retrofit including installing an Air Source Heat Pump, completely new 'wet' central heating system and a small solar panel array. Keith and the team were really helpful and friendly throughout and although there were a few hiccups and delays for various reasons, they kept communicating with me which really helped, until it was all completed. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Generation depends on your roof orientation, pitch, shading and array size. We provide an MCS performance estimate as part of your written proposal. We don't quote generic 'savings per year' figures because real-world savings depend on your usage pattern and tariff.

No, solar PV works without a battery. A battery lets you use more of what you generate in your own home, including in the evening, rather than exporting it. We present it as an option and size it to your usage, never push it as default.

Panels still generate in diffuse light, just at lower output. Generation is highest on bright summer days and lowest in midwinter. Your MCS performance estimate accounts for typical UK conditions across the year.

Panels, inverter and battery each carry manufacturer warranties that vary by product. We register them on your behalf and confirm the specifics in your written proposal. Workmanship warranty is also included.

Yes. Finance options are available for solar and battery installations, provided through Ideal4Finance and subject to status. One thing we're always clear about: monthly repayments are due every month for the length of your agreement, regardless of the savings your system achieves, and any savings estimates are not guaranteed. For independent estimates of typical solar savings, the Energy Saving Trust is a good place to start.

The Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) lets you sell surplus electricity to a licensed energy supplier. You apply for an SEG tariff with your chosen supplier using your MCS certificate. Tariffs and terms are set by the supplier, not by us.

No. You'll get a personalised estimate on your first call, based on your property details, your electricity usage and aerial roof data. A detailed desktop survey completes your final design after you decide to go ahead - and we only arrange a home visit if something genuinely needs a closer look.

It's a genuine figure based on your roof, your usage and what you need - not a generic price. It's indicative, though: your final price and system design are confirmed by the detailed desktop survey, and if anything changes, we'll always talk it through with you first.

A full system design completed remotely by our team, using aerial mapping, measured roof dimensions, orientation and shading analysis, your electricity usage and photographs of your property. It covers everything an in-person survey would for most homes - and where a property does need a physical inspection, we arrange one before installation.

We complete your detailed desktop survey and system design, confirm everything with you in writing, and then book your installation. If the design flags anything that needs a physical check, we arrange that first.

We check suitability before you commit, not after. Your estimate is based on an initial desktop check of your property - your roof, its orientation and any shading - so if solar isn't a good fit, we'll tell you at the estimate stage, before you've paid anything or applied for finance. The detailed desktop survey after you go ahead is about finalising your design, not re-deciding whether solar works for your home.

£5,999 for 6 panels, a hybrid inverter and a 7.2kWh stackable battery, fully installed by our MCS-accredited team, with scaffolding, bird proofing, MCS certification and DNO notification included. Subject to suitability, confirmed by your detailed desktop survey.

We install solar PV across South Wales and the South West of England from our base in Bridgend. Our team is MCS certified (Certificate No. IAA-10295), a HIES consumer code member and TrustMark registered.

There is no universal solar grant in Wales, but targeted support exists: free installations through Warm Homes Nest and ECO4 for eligible households, interest-free loans through Green Homes Wales, 0% VAT until 31 March 2027 and Smart Export Guarantee payments.
